It happened Monday morning (September 4th). Dad called me and told me the sad news. Steve Irwin was killed by a stingray. I burst into tears. It felt like I lost a close friend or relative. I got off the phone with my dad and told Tom. Tom wasn't shocked. Not of Steve's death but he was shocked as to what had got him. A stingray. Tom made a statement not very long ago. He said, "Steve. What the fuck are you doing in the water?" He thought a shark was gonna eat him or hurt him badly. That the end was near for Steve Irwin. We all had made funny statements at one time or another, saying a croc was gonna eat him or a snake. Even Steve had made statements like that. Tom said that he would have felt better if it had been a croc to have killed him. Tom was still tore up. As well as his friend Jim. That was Tom's idol. "The best herpetologist this world will ever know", Tom said.
I was heartbroken. I cried off and on all day. I even woke up in the middle of the night crying. Then Tom and I watched CNN at four o'clock in the morning. I couldn't believe how it shook me. And somehow I could. Jeff Corwin said it best when he called Steve an immortal. That was how he had viewed him. As many of us did. We get use to seeing highly respectful people on TV, that they almost become like cartoon characters to us. We some how lead ourselves to believe that they will be around forever. Then reality hits. And you learn how very fragile life really is. Not too mention all the close encounters Steve had with the crocs and snakes.
I was heartbroken for two reasons. I loved Steve Irwin as a person, a friend to all especially animals. I loved his family and everything that they stood for in every possible good way. The fact that a great person was taken away so young hurt too.
The second reason I was heartbroken was the thought of his family. They pain they must feel. Pure hell. His wife, his children, and father. Not to mention all his friends at the Australian Zoo. But Especially his family. His daughter for the most part. Her daddy was truly her hero. She is at that age where she knows what is going on and will remember her daddy. I know what and how I felt about Steve's death. My pain compared to their's is nothing.......
Though, I am still very much depressed but much better than Monday. Slowly time heals all they say.
But let us not forget. Steve Irwin was doing what he loved best when he died. It was an honorable death. Though a bit too soon for us all. He was truly one of a kind, the best kind. He was possibly the greatest father and husband. He was indeed a beautiful person. Steve Irwin will live forever in our hearts. And may we all become just as enthusiastic and passionate about the animals and the earth we live on as Steve was, and maybe one day his children will pick up where he left off.
This is just another blog. Nothing to jump up and down about. Just sit back, kick yer feet up, and enjoy the ride of your life!

Goodbye Crocodile Guy...
I can't write now....
Stingray kills 'Crocodile Hunter' Irwin
By BRIAN CASSEY, Associated Press Writer
Mon Sep 4, 9:34 AM ET
CAIRNS, Australia - Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and conservationist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44.
Irwin was at Batt Reef, off the remote coast of northeastern Queensland state, shooting a segment for a series called "Ocean's Deadliest" when he swam too close to one of the animals, which have a poisonous barb on their tails, his friend and colleague John Stainton said.
"He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time.
Crew members aboard the boat, Croc One, called emergency services in the nearest city, Cairns, and administered CPR as they rushed the boat to nearby Low Isle to meet a rescue helicopter. Medical staff pronounced Irwin dead when they arrived a short time later, Stainton said.

216) To which you exclaim, "Thank you Jareth!"
217) He recognizes you as the one who screamed, "I love you, Jareth!" at his last concert (#73).
218) He sends you home with a note.
219) You make plans to steal away his new baby.
220) You refer to everyone you're affectionate with as a "precious thing."
221) You write an essay comparing the similarities of Jareth and Ziggy's hairstyles.
222) You buy a copy of the book The Mullet: Hairstyle of the Gods (by Mark Larson and Barney Hoskyns, Bloomsbury, $24.95).
223) You go to the zoo and stare dreamily at the owl.
224) You adopt the owl.
225) You call it Jareth.
226) And you happily tell it, "Look *who's* my slave now!"
227) When other people come to look at the owl, you become jealous.
228) You throw rocks at the school bullies when they decide to beat someone up.
229) They turn around to beat you up, see it's you and run away screaming.
230) You smile.
231) You offer the victim words such as, "Don't you want me to help you down?", "That's no way to treat someone who's helping you" and "Are you hurt?"
232) At the casino, you answer the croupier with, "How about upping the stakes?" (Also "Roll 'em!", "Snake eyes!", "We get a free throw!", "Play the game!" and "You're no match for me!")
233) At the end of a date, you scream at your bewildered partner, "Don't kiss me! Don't kiss me!"
234) You decide not to go on any more dates to spite your mother.
235) Anyway, how can anyone offer you anything when Jareth can offer you everything?
236) Every time someone asks the question, "What is it?" no matter how inappropriate the situation, you reply, "The Bog of Eternal Stench!"
237) Every time you past a door labeled "Cleaners," you scream, grab your friend and start running.
238) You want to buy David Bowie's painting The Minotaur because it must have had something to do with Labyrinth.
239) When asked to write an essay on an influential philosopher, you pick the Wiseman and write a 10-page essay analyzing Labyrinth in the context of his words.
240) You get a good mark.
241) You decide to create a student political party at your university based on Jareth's political and ideological viewpoints.
242) You get sent to a attitudinal correction class where you have to spend the day doing Christian youth-group style activities with overzealous Marxists, Communists, socialists, leftists and neo-Nazis.
243) The overzealous Marxists, Communists, socialists, leftists and neo-Nazis become very scared of you.
244) You get sent home with another note.
245) Your mother ignores it and puts it in the pile with the others.
246) Even Elizabeth A. Allen is scared of you.

Paint Me A Bed
I have to be quick. I am working on some art work. I need all the practice I can get because I am making it a goal to be the best that I can be. Tom likes me painting and drawing because it gets me away from the computer.
Yesterday Tom went bed shopping. I told him to find one and have it ready when I got home from work. He did. We have been sleeping on the floor for over three years. On a mattress and then on a hide-a-bed. Now we actually have a real bed. I just don't know how to act now. I am still in awe.

Bisexuality - It Does Exist!
Today at work Ruth started going on about how there is no such thing as bisexual. (Isn't the first time she said it.) (I am sick of hearing it from her.) She says that a true gay person will tell you that. Her sister his gay and says it. I have to roll my eyes up at this. There is such a thing as bisexual. Bi means two, like a bicycle. Being bisexual means you like both genders. Male and female. Yes it is possible to like both genders. I gave Ruth a scenario of a person sleeping with both genders and she replied that they are in denial. That you either are gay or you are not and if you sleep with the other gender then you are not being real with yourself. I also gave her a scenario and said, "Oh. So If I slept with another woman I would still be straight." She said no. That I would be gay. She contradicted what she was saying. WHATEVER!! Bi is bi. You are still gay but you like both genders and you really can like both genders. That being said.....*raspberry*
Here are some links on the subject of bisexuals.
(I am so right!! In your face Ruth!!!) *raspberry*

BISEXUALITY IS LEGITIMATE. Non-bisexual persons sometimes assume that bisexuals are "really heterosexual" or "really homosexual" and cannot make up their minds, or that bisexual persons are merely curious. Though this phenomenon may be true for some, it is not a necessary or typical characteristic of bisexual people.
http://web.indstate.edu/community/TeenTH/bisexmyths.html
MYTH:Bisexuals are denying their lesbianism or gayness.
TRUTH: Bisexuality is a legitimate sexual orientation which incorporates gayness. Most bisexuals consider themselves part of the generic term "gay." Many are quite active in the gay community, both socially and politically. Some use terms such as "bisexual lesbian" to increase visibility on both issues.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisexuality
DescriptionBisexual orientation can fall anywhere between the two extremes of homosexuality and heterosexuality; a bisexual person is not necessarily attracted equally to both genders, and many tend to prefer one or the other. Another view of bisexuality is that homosexuality and heterosexuality are two monosexual orientations, whereas bisexuality encompasses them both. However, some argue that bisexuality is a legitimate sexual orientation in its own right.
Individuals attracted to both males and females, like people of any other orientation, may live a variety of sexual lifestyles. These include: lifelong monogamy, serial monogamy, polyamory, polyfidelity, casual sexual activity with individual partners, casual group sex, and celibacy. For those with more than one sexual partner, these may or may not be all be of the same gender.
Some bisexual people consider themselves to be gay or lesbian -- for example, a bisexual woman who considers herself a lesbian may do so on the basis that a lesbian might be defined as any woman who is attracted to women (even one who is also attracted to men), or a woman who is primarily attracted to other women. Some lesbian and gay people object, asserting that exclusivity is part of the definition. Other bisexuals consider themselves distinct from homosexuals but part of the larger LGBT or queer community. Some bisexuals may be supportive of lesbian and gay people, but still consider themselves straight, and still others consider any labels irrelevant to their situations.

Myth: Bisexuality doesn't really exist. People who consider themselves bisexuals are going through a phase/ confused/ undecided/ fence sitting. Ultimately they'll settle down and realize they're actually homosexual or heterosexual.
Reality: Some people go through a transitional period of bisexuality on their way to adopting a lesbian/gay or heterosexual identity. For many others bisexuality remains a long-term orientation. For some bisexuals, homosexuality was a transitional phase in their coming out as bisexuals. Many bisexuals may well be confused, living in a society where their sexuality is denied by homosexuals and heterosexuals alike, but that confusion is a function of oppression. Fence-sitting is a misnomer; there is no "fence" between homosexuality and heterosexuality except in the minds of people who rigidly divide the two.
Myth: Bisexuality doesn't really exist. People who consider themselves bisexuals are actually lesbian/gay, but haven't fully accepted themselves and finished coming out of the closet (acknowledging their attraction to people of the same gender.)
Reality: Bisexuality is a legitimate sexual orientation. Many bisexuals are completely out of the closet, but not on the lesbian/gay community's terms. (It is worth noting that many lesbians and gay men are not completely out of the closet and their process is generally respected; it is also worth noting that the lesbian/gay community whose "terms" are in question here has tended to be quite different for working class lesbians, gays of color, etc.) Bisexuals in this country share with lesbians and gays the debilitating experience of heterosexism (the assumption that everyone is heterosexual and thereby rendering other sexual identities invisible) and homophobia (the hatred, fear, and discrimination against homosexuals.)

Myth: Bisexuals are confused about their sexuality.
Truth: It is natural for both bisexuals and gays to go through a period of confusion in the coming-out process. When you are an oppressed people and are constantly told that you don’t exist, confusion is an appropriate reaction until you come out to yourself and find a supportive environment.
**It is important to remember that bisexual, gay, lesbian, and heterosexual are labels created by a homophobic, biphobic, heterosexist society to separate and alienate us from each other. We are all unique; we don’t fit into neat little categories. We sometimes need to use these labels for political reasons and to increase our visibilities. Our sexual esteem is facilitated by acknowledging and accepting the differences and seeing the beauty in our diversity.

Black Squirrel Phenomenon
I have finally gotten pictures of the black squirrels that live down the road from us. I have been trying to get pictures of them for quite some time now. We saw them out playing the evening when we came home. So I walked down with my camera. The lady that lives down at the edge of the road came out and talked to be. She said she had gotten them from a guy in greenfield back in 2003. She started out with two and they had a litter but last year no one really got to see them. This year they had another and were out more often. She is so proud of them too. It made her happy that I was taking pictures of them and that people stop to see them.
I have been looking up the info on these black squirrels and it turns out that they aren't really new. Just new to my area. As they would be in any area in the united states because they come from Canada. So here is a link. http://www.roadsideamerica.com/set/squirrelsblack.html and my pictures of course....

Time Out!
I have not been getting on the computer as much anymore. I also have not been logging in to my yahoo messenger or been writing in my journals like I normally do. I have not been logging in at grab.com either. I am isolating myself from the computer world. That also includes family and friends. I feel that it is the best thing that I can do for myself at this time. Because I need me time. Private time. And this seems to be working. I am feeling more myself and closer with myself. Like seeing an old friend that you have not seen in a long time. Or visiting a town that you once grew up in and have not been in for many years. It is a good feeling. A familiar feeling. And because of this feeling I feel good. For the first time in a long time (since I got my lap top) I feel like my old self. I only hope that it gets even better and that I don't take two steps back. So I will continue to isolate myself from the computer world until this dark cloud has been lifted from my soul. During this time I will also be working on my sketching skills. I will post updates every now and again. I love you all in computer world and I am sure to miss you. Wish me good luck.

Believe In Yourself
We are going to have Thanksgiving at my sister's. On thanksgiving day even. It will just be mom and dad there but me and Tom. The food will even be better because it mom and Amy are doing the cooking. Amy wants me to cook something too. Yeah right. Me cook? But I am sure I can figure out something to fix that is simple and good. Maybe baked beans with chunks of hot dogs in it. Or green beans with chunks of bacon. Or I could just simple my a family TV dinner of mac & cheese. Just heat it up and put it in a nice plastic bowl. I doubt that I do the last one.
Now that Thanksgiving is on. Or sort of on. Now we have two places to go for Thanksgiving. My sister's and Tom's mom's house. I would rather not go to his mom's but then that would be unfair. I told Tom that we would go over to his mother's real early. He agreed. But I am not going to eat much. For one, I know I am not going to like what she has. Secondly. I know that whatever it is that she is fixing isn't going to be much. And thirdly. I want to be hungry for the food at my family's gathering.
Last night was sick. I thought I was dying. I don't know if it was the flu or just gas but I threw up in the process. Nice huh? I stayed home from work today. My stomach still refuse to keep anything down. But I feel ok now. Maybe a little ickish but I am dealing.

Steam
Halloween is over. Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Or at least for some. My family won't be having it this year. They have moved it to the weekend. So it is still Thanksgiving but not on the right day. All because my grandma couldn't get the fellowship building. A building that is only rented out to those who go to the church across the street from it. That's beside the point. The point is, you can't have Thanksgiving on any day but the day it is marked on the calendar for. I know I am being a spoiled brat about this. But we have always had Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving like the rest of the world. Most people get that day off too. So now I am suppose to take an extra day off to have Thanksgiving on a day that isn't Thanksgiving. My sister had Thanksgiving off but not the Saturday that they have moved it too. My sister never gets Thanksgiving off and the one year she does.....*sigh* Ahh, fuck it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Mwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, a strange thing indeed happened today. The kitty cats reportedly got to spend about 7 hours together without killing each other. The spray bottle I bought changed everything. They get a little too rough, they get sprayed and separate immediately. Easiest way to keep them in line while letting them spend time getting used to each other. Turns out they LOVE each other. They even bathed each other and slept together, which is what they're doing now.
This makes me so happy. I was concerned we'd never be able to let them hang out together and that Cleo would destroy all the carpet underneath the bedroom door. Now, they can be out together [as long as we're here] with limited supervision. I don't want to completely leave them alone together yet but I think we're closer to that goal. Curling up on the sofa to sleep together without being put there is certainly an encouraging start.

the worst halloween prank ever
well, I was sure fooled. these cats are never gonna be able to be left alone together. after a lengthy staredown between cat and kitten, a weird vibe developed between the two of them. then, Cleo went nuts. she started making these awful noises and going after Sabbath. they got behind the stereo and I went after them to break it up. he began to scream with fear but I got her before she could get to him. she clawed the shit out of me and I fumbled her. I finally got good hold of her and then she got me, right in the face. I screamed. Brad rescued Sabbath and put him in the bedroom while I tried to detach Cleo from my face. The profuse bleeding is under control now and I have finally stopped shaking. Brad called a vet who told us we have to start over. tell that to the bedroom carpet.
dare I ask, What now?

Knowing the exact time and date of death.... (?)
So, if I could know the exact date and time I was going to die, would I want to know?My answer is (no)And here's why: If I knew when I was going to die I would go mad. I think any person would. You would think about it all the time and you wouldn't be living anymore. You would be living for that day, that time that you would die. Everything you said or did would revolve around death. For in the back of your mind would be you death. There would be no point in living then. Life would be no fun if you knew when you were going to die. On second thought. If I knew when I was going to die, could I stop it from happening? Is it possible then, to cheat death? Hmmmmm.....How the mind does ponder.
What's my favorite season?
My favorite season is: SummerAnd the reason I love that time of year is ... I love summer because it is so beautiful. The sky is blue and grass is green. There are poeple everywhere doing outdoor stuff. Such as walking, flying kites, skating, playing basket ball, or just hanging out. Family gatherings take place in summer. With grill outs and going ot the beach. The flowers bloom and smell so nice. There are leaves on the trees. The animals play the most in summer. Of course it is very hot. But the best part of summer is taking off the clothes. If you are daring you get to run around your house naked. *blush* Oh wait. I do that in winter too. *LOL*

Block
Here I am. Where have I been? Well certainly not on here. There hasn't been much going on. What is there to right about? My cats? The weather? I wish I did have something to write but at the moment there is nothing going on in my boring life. I don't have any updates as to how grandpa is doing. I talked to my mom last night and no news on my dad's back or if he has cancer. My sister called today and there really isn't anything new going on in her life either. Maybe later I can find something good to write about. Until then..... Ciao!

Halloween Spirit
HALLOWE'ENJoel Benton ~
Pixie, kobold, elf, and sprite
All are on their rounds to-night,-
In the wan moon's silver ray
Thrives their helter-skelter play.
Fond of cellar, barn,or stack,
True unto the almanac,
They present to credulous eyes
Strange hobgoblin mysteries.
Cabbage-stomps-straws wet with dew-
Apple-skins, and chestnuts too,
And a mirror for some lass,
Show what wonders come to pass.
Doors they move, and gates they hide,
Mischiefs that on moon-beams ride
Are their deeds, and, by their spells,
Love records its oracles.
Don't we all, of long ago,
By the ruddy fireplace glow,
In the kitchen and the hall,
Those queer, coofllke pranks recall?
Eery shadows were they then-
But to-night they come again;
Were we once more but sixteen,
Precious would be Halloween.

The Art of Faery (review)

The Art of Faery (Hardcover)
by David Riche, Brian Froud (Foreword)
The Perfect Gift For Any Lover of the FaeReviewer: Lucinda
I was so excited when I received The Art Of Faery. I did a little happy dance in my front room. It is funny how faeries bring out the child in you. I have been a believer of the Fae since I was a little girl. I couldn't imagine my life without them. This is a wonderful book on faery artists and their works. The many wonderful artists include Brian Froud, Amy Brown, David Delamare, Jasmine Becket-Griffith, Maxine Gadd, Myrea Pettit, Linda Ravenscroft, Stephanie Pui-Mun Law, and many others. There are a few artists I did not see such as Nene Tina Thomas, Josephine Wall, Selina Fenech, and Mary Baxter St Clair. But perhaps they will come out with a second book. That would be great.
In the back of the book there is a list of the artists and their websites. It even gives you a picture of what the artists look like. So not only can you read the BIOS of your favorite artist but also get to see what they look like.
If you love the Fae and love fantasy, you are sure to love this book. So what are you waiting for? Get it now before it goes out of stock! *wink*
